OmniPrice Guard
Show the correct prior price on discounted products.
For Shopify stores selling to the EU, OmniPrice Guard records every price change with a timestamp, fixes the prior price when a sale starts, and shows it on the product page, so shoppers see the price the rules describe.

The rule in plain words
When you advertise a price reduction to EU consumers, the prior price shown should be the lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction began. That is Article 6a of Directive 98/6/EC, added by the Omnibus Directive 2019/2161. Each country has put it into its own law.
How it works
Three steps, from install to the product page.
Install
Install OmniPrice Guard from the Shopify App Store. It reads your catalogue and starts recording prices.
Prices are recorded
Every price change is saved with a timestamp, per variant and per Shopify Market, building your price history.
The block shows it
Add the Prior price block to your product page and switch on the embed. The correct prior price shows under the price.
Features
Records every price change
Each variant and Shopify Market price is saved with a UTC timestamp, from install onwards.
Fixes the prior price
When a sale starts, the lowest price of the previous 30 days is frozen and kept for the whole promotion.
Flags a wrong strikethrough
If your compare-at price differs from the prior price, you see a warning with a one-click fix.
Shows it on the product page
A theme app block renders the prior price under the price, per country, with no theme files edited.
Exports the history
Download a CSV of price changes by date range or product, with the prior price for each row.

Questions
Which stores need OmniPrice Guard?
Shopify stores that sell to consumers in the EU and advertise price reductions, for example with a compare-at or strikethrough price. If you only sell outside the EU, or you never show a reduced price, you may not need it.
Does it edit my theme files?
No. OmniPrice Guard is a theme app block and an app embed. You add the Prior price block to your product page and switch on the embed; no theme files are edited, and removing the app removes the block.
How does it work with Markets and currencies?
Prices are recorded per product variant and per Shopify Market, so each market can show the prior price in its own currency. The block reads the shopper’s country to choose the right value.
What happens after I uninstall?
Shopify removes the app’s theme block and data fields. We then delete every record for your shop, including the price history, after Shopify sends its erasure request.
Is OmniPrice Guard legal advice?
No. It supports your compliance work and is not legal advice. Rules differ by country and by product, so confirm what applies to you with your own adviser.
Do discount codes and automatic discounts count?
Not in this version. They do not change the displayed product price, so they are not tracked. Product prices, compare-at prices and Shopify Markets prices are.
